Changing your name, email or mobile number
Customers can change their own name, email, mobile, birthday and password from Profile in the app. Adding a mobile number to an account that never had one does work, whatever you may have been told before.
If you collect stamps
Open the Flex Rewards app (or the card in your browser) and go to Profile. You can change each of these yourself:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Alternative email address
- Mobile number
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Company
- Password
Tap the item you want to change, edit it, and save. Each one is a separate small form.
Adding a mobile number when you never had one
This works. If you signed up with an email address and never added a mobile, you can add one now — Profile → Mobile.
We’re being explicit because you may have been told otherwise. For a long time our own support answer to this was that it wasn’t possible. That was wrong, and we’re sorry if you were turned away on it. If you tried before and gave up, try again.
Two things worth knowing:
- There’s no verification step. Whatever you type is what’s saved, so check it before saving — a typo won’t bounce back at you.
- Each mobile number can only be on one account. If you get “mobile number has been taken”, the number is already on another Flex Rewards account — most often an older one of your own created with a different sign-in method. See I can’t log in, or my card has vanished.
A couple of format details
- Date of birth wants
YYYY-MM-DD. Other formats are ignored rather than rejected, so the change looks like it saved and nothing happens. - Email and alternative email must each be unique across accounts, same as mobile.
Changing how you sign in
Your details and your sign-in method are separate things. Changing your email address in Profile does not change the Google or Apple account you sign in with — if you joined with Google, you still sign in with Google.
There’s no way to move an account from one sign-in method to another. If you have stamps split across two accounts because of this, contact us with Support as the topic and we’ll help you work out which is which.
There’s no country setting
Your profile has no country field, so there’s nothing to change. The country code on your mobile number is just part of the number.
If you run a business
Your business details are in Settings in your dashboard — business name, contact details, your loyalty program’s setup.
One thing that can’t be changed: your country
Your business country is fixed at signup and cannot be changed afterwards — not by you, and not by us. It isn’t a permissions thing; there’s genuinely no way to change it.
It matters because your country sets your billing currency. An account created in New Zealand bills in NZD forever.
So if you’re a business that has moved country, or the account was created with the wrong country, the only route is a new account with the right country from the start. Contact us with Billing as the topic before you do that — a fresh account means a fresh program, and we’d rather talk through what that means for your existing members than have you discover it afterwards.
Changing the account owner
If the person who set the account up has left, contact us with Billing as the topic, from an email address on your business domain, and name the business. We verify ownership before changing anything, which is slower than you’d like and deliberately so.
